Local businesses have a problem. They want to get their name and message out to their target market, but traditional advertising methods have evaporated. Local newspapers have disappeared, yellow page advertising has become an unused relic of the past, direct mail is expensive, and online advertising requires skills most local businesses lack. The situation leaves local businesses in a tough spot, desperately seeking ways to reach local customers in your area.
But there is good news: your booster club’s members and community include families who shop locally. That means your club is a direct connection to the target market many local businesses crave. If you offer a valuable solution, local businesses are willing to pay your club for it. The solution? Sponsorship.
Offer potential sponsors an opportunity to reach a local audience of buyers. Offer to put their logo in highly visible places. Offer them an opportunity to establish or enhance their reputation as a strong local business known for supporting the community. Maybe throw in some bling, like shirts or a window decal with your club’s logo on it. And, tell them what you will do with the funds you raise (e.g., provide student scholarships, buy new uniforms, fund after school clubs & activities, etc).
Not sure what benefits to offer in your sponsorship plans? BoosterSpark's Sponsorship Plan Designer tool, included with every BoosterSpark subscription, lists 56 plan benefits you can choose to add to any of your plans.
BoosterSpark recommends offering five plans. Aim to have five plans priced at $250, $500, $1,000, $1,500, and $3,000. Choose benefits for each plan. The low-end plan should offer bare-bones benefits, and the high-end plan should be packed with valuable benefits.
